Leuphana University of Lüneburg
Founded in 1946 as a Pedagogical University (PH), Leuphana University of Lüneburg is a young university that emphasizes innovation, rather than tradition. Leuphana aspires to create a space stimulated by a collective search for knowledge and sustainable solutions. Leuphana understands its role as ‘theme-oriented’ university dedicated to the issues affecting 21st century society. Leuphana’s research activities are organized within four university-wide, inter- and cross-disciplinary “Research Initiatives”, namely: education, culture, management and business activity, and sustainability. Researchers within these research initiatives apply inter- and cross-disciplinary method to expand on a number of cross-sectional topics. Involving non-university practical experience from the outset is an important part of our academic culture.
